About the Bingham Center for Teaching Excellence
The Bingham Center for Teaching Excellence's mission is to provide faculty with support for developing as teachers and teacher-researchers by providing professional development, funding, and scholarship opportunities.
The Center finished its first year in the spring of 2024 and opened its new space in the library in the Fall of 2024, thanks to the efforts of Dean Becky Thomas and funding from the Bingham Trust.
The Digital Liberal Arts Initiative (DLA)
The DLA Program is the technology-facing side of the BCTE. It was formed with funding from the Bingham Trust in 2017. Its mission is to help faculty integrate technology into teaching and curriculum at Transy. In addition to offering programming and maintaining campus spaces devoted to pedagogy-related technology, the DLA provides faculty funding for research, creative projects, and innovative, technologically-focused projects in and outside the classroom.
